SEGA’s Model 2 Games Finally Being Released Arcade Perfect

During the 32-bit wars, Sega’s strength was their Model 2 arcade board and its amazing arcade games. Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua On, Daytona USA, and the original House of the Dead were some of the big hits on the board, but unfortunately the Saturn wasn’t powerful enough to pull off arcade perfect ports. Recently a very faithful port of Daytona USA was released for PSN and XBLA, and now we’re going to get more.

In Japan, Sega has announced Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, and Sonic The Fighters for PSN and XBLA release soon with Virtua Strikers and Virtua On following later. Each game will cost about $10. From the video below, they definitely look like Arcade Perfect ports and it’s only taken more than fifteen years for us to get this! Hopefully these sell like crazy so Sega will do Model 3 collections with VF3 and Scud Racer!
