Silver Surfer is probably Marvel’s best scifi character, but he hasn’t had an on-going book in a long time. He starred in a mini-series recently, was part of the Cosmic Annihilation storyline, and he is a member of The Defenders. Unfortunately, Defenders ends its run with its 12th issue in December, which means the Surfer is once again orphaned.

Hopefully Marvel has plans to give Surfer his own on-going book to compliment the upcoming relaunches of Guardians and Nova. Perhaps Marvel is trying to gauge interest in Silver Surfer as this January Marvel is going to re-release two classic Stan Lee/Moebius issues in a collection. This isn’t the first time Parable has been re-released, but a new release this January could show Marvel that people want more Surfer.
