If you’re a scifi fan and a PC gamer, today brings good news. With nearly a month left on its Kickstarter campaign, Chris Roberts’ new epic space combat simulation has reached its initial funding goals. The Kickstarter for Star Citizen set only a modest $500,000 goal, which they hit pretty quickly. But that total is added to the total Roberts had already raised on the game’s official site, which means the game will have reached it’s $2 million goal with plenty of time to spare.

With many Kickstarters the developers will add additional funding goals beyond the initial one with new additions to the game and bonuses for backers. It remains to be seen of Roberts does the same with Star Citizen, but one can hope.
