It’s been too long since we’ve had a genuinely scary alien abduction movie. Communion, based on Whitely Strieber’s abduction classic, was terrifying. Fire in the Sky, which took great liberties with Travis Walton’s abduction account, delivered one of the most squirm-inducing abduction scenes ever. Then came The Fourth Kind, which was just shit.

In February a movie called Dark Skies will be coming out, and it looks to be a scarier version of the abduction scene in Close Encounters. Spielberg’s abduction scene was scary enough for a PG movie, but this looks to take it to the next level with some very freaky stuff going on with the family who was chosen to be lab rats for the aliens.
