If you own Angry Birds Star Wars, check your app store updates. The long-awaited free Hoth update has arrived and it brings with it 20 new levels, two more bonus levels, and the Princess Leia bird. The update should be available by the time you read this on the mobile platforms, although I haven’t yet seen an update come down for the desktop versions (I’m playing it on both iOS and OSX).

Hoth is the third free planet in the game, and the fourth overall. The game launched with Tatooine, the Death Star, and a premium ($1.99 to unlock) series of Dagobah levels. Playing through Dagobah is worth doing as when you finish it, you unlock a more powerful Return of the Jedi Luke bird who has a more powerful green saber and continues his momentum even when slashing through something. If you haven’t already unlocked him, it may be worth the $2 and few hours on Dagobah before tackling Hoth as the Luke bird is used in the new levels.
