Officially X-Men: Days of Future Past is the sequel to X-Men: First Class, but it’s now looking to bridge the gap between the two X-Men series. Patrick Stewart recently confirmed at a convention that he’ll be coming back, but Bryan Singer took to Twitter to confirm that both he and Ian McKellen have been cast in the movie, which means there will be two generations of each character in the same movie:

Hopefully this means the movie will retcon out the events of X-Men: The Last Stand and get the X-Men movie franchise back on track.
