A little while ago a rumor popped up that Jamie Foxx was being considered to play Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. While it may have reminded people of the crazy Eddie Murphy as the Riddler rumor for The Dark Knight Rises, this one had a possibility of being true…and now it is. Entertainment Tonight confirmed that Jamie Foxx will be playing Electro in the sequel and even has confirmation from Foxx about it:

“Electro is a great character,” Jamie tells ET’s Nancy O’Dell when she asks him if he’s confirmed to be in the next installment of the blockbuster franchise “I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked. … I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”

First The Lizard, and now Electro. I like the way they’re going with the villains in this series. Although they absolutely have to do Green Goblin in the third movie as that’s how Gwen Stacy is killed.
