While we just recently learned of Joss Whedon’s return to television with S.H.I.E.L.D., it’s sounding like we may see it on the fall schedule…if the pilot doesn’t suck. Jeph Loeb, who runs Marvel’s TV side of things when he’s not writing crappy comic stories, gave an interview with PREVIEWSworld where he says that he hopes it’ll be on the air in the Fall:
Well…we have a “little” pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!
People seem surprised that it’s so soon, but things do seem to move pretty quickly in the TV world; especially when it’s a big network like ABC behind the show. Hopefully the show dodges the Whedon TV curse. It is ten years since Firefly was killed by Fox…
