Could Blizzard’s Titan Be StarCraft: Ghost Reborn?

Blizzard’s up coming MMO that will be their successor to WoW, codenamed Titan, is still shrouded in secrecy but now some things may be leaking out. Ever since word of Titan came out, we’ve been told that it’s a brand new IP from Blizzard and unrelated to any of their previous games. Now a Titan fansite has compiled a list of very interesting rumors that say that the game isn’t a new IP but spun off from an existing Blizzard franchise. That opens up one really wild possibility…

The site also claims that the game is headed to consoles and that Blizzard has development kits for the next Xbox. While those could be for the rumored console port of Diablo III, the site says they’re for Titan.

What if Titan is a reborn version of StarCraft: Ghost? Blizzard’s console action title set in the StarCraft universe has not been seen for a long time, not since they revealed the Zerg as a playable race for multiplayer years ago; so it’s very possible that game is serving as the foundation for their new MMO. It’s definitely more console friendly than a WoW-style MMO, and a third person shooter would fit the free to play format the game is rumored to follow.

While there wasn’t a BlizzCon in 2011, there’s rumored to be one this year…maybe we’ll know then.
