Yesterday, a rumor hit Twitter that has Star Wars fans speculating about who Episode VII would be about. The Tweet in question originated from SlashFilm’s Peter Sciretta who tweeted:
Who said the lead character in Star Wars Episode VII is going to be a male star? :)

What’s he talking about? Well, one of the earliest rumors about Episode VII after it was announced was that the lead character would be a female Skywalker. This rumor popped up not long after the Episode VII announcement, but part of that rumor actually named the movie “A New Dawn“; which we know is probably a big steaming pile of BS.
Could the site have gotten part of their stuff right? Does Peter Sciretta know more than he’s letting on, or is he just buying into the rumor?
A female Skywalker would make sense. For example, in the new Legacy series the main character is a female descendant of Han and Leia. For them to have a female Skywalker lead in Episode VII would throw fans for a loop…
