Last night around 9:00pm, Lucasfilm officially confirmed that J.J. Abrams is indeed the director; despite the entire Internet knowing he got the job the day before. The Hollywood Reporter posted a story about Lucasfilm’s confirmation where they say that Abrams will work with Michael Arndt on the script, but one thing they mention may worry Star Wars fans who were hoping to see the movie in two years:
Episode VII is set for release in 2015, but sources say Abrams has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it.
So I guess those angry that Abrams is directing the movie officially have something to complain about now.
