It’s been known that Disney plans stand-alone Star Wars movies in addition to the episodes, but until now there haven’t even been many big rumors about what they may be. Joe Johnston has wanted to do a Boba Fett movie for years, and there was that Zack Snyder rumor that fizzled about a “Seven Samurai” Jedi movie. But now Harry over at AICN has posted a rumor he’s heard from his sources on what the first stand-alone movie would be about:

The first Stand Alone film is going to center upon YODA. At this stage specifics are sparse, but Kathleen Kennedy is putting together a STAR WARS slate… I’m wildly curious for more details on the YODA film – would this be a young or old YODA tale?

This would be interesting as throughout the entire history of the EU, Yoda was strictly off limits. Even finished EU art was banned if it had anything to do with Yoda. A famous example is a trading card that was done that showed a group of Yoda’s people worshipping some statue. Lucas nixed that art before it hit stores. A Yoda movie could be very popular…
