This morning the Walt Disney Company gave it’s quarterly earnings reports, and naturally there were some questions about Star Wars. Disney CEO Bob Iger gave an interview to CNBC after the report came out, and in it he confirmed that they are doing spin-off movies:
“I can confirm to you today that in fact we are working on a few standalone films. Larry Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are both working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga. We still plan to make Star Wars VII, VIII and IX roughly over a six-year period of time, starting in 2015, but there are going to be a few other films released in that period of time.”
He also confirmed, again, that the two are working on consultants with JJ Abrams on Episode VII.
Could the rumored Yoda movie be one of these character movies that is being worked on?
