A couple of weeks ago, rumors came out that Warner Brothers had intended to introduce the new Batman in a Justice League movie with a solo film following in 2017. Well, now that the 2015 Justice League movie may be dead, what would that mean for a new Batman movie? Batman on Film has the rumor that if Man of Steel is a hit and spawns a trilogy, we won’t be seeing a new Batman movie for quite a while…

if JL is canned…err…postponed, MAN OF STEEL is a hit and spawns two sequels (yes, we’re talking “The Man of Steel Trilogy” here), the first post-Nolan Batman film will likely come after this potential run of three Superman films. Thus, BATMAN REBOOTED will hit theaters in 2019, give or take.

I think Superman’s time has come for a hit movie trilogy to match the Dark Knight trilogy. I wouldn’t mind waiting until 2019 for a new Batman if that means we’ll get three awesome Superman movies…
