Most Star Trek fans remember the history between William Shatner and J.J. Abrams and the rebooted Star Trek. Originally, Shatner had a cameo in the script in a pretty touching little holo-recording that Spock plays at the end of the movie where Shatner’s dialog would play over the final scenes. That was cut, and Shatner got shafted on appearing in the new Star Trek movie. In the time that has passed, it seems like Shatner and Abrams have mended any harsh feelings that came from that, but now there’s this…
During an interview Movie Fanatic did with Shatner about his voicing of the villain in the new animed movie Escape from Planet Earth, Shatner was asked about Abrams directing both Star Trek and Star Wars:
“He’s being a pig,” Shatner said. “He’s probably the most talented director of that ilk we have. But, he’s gone too far this time.”
Obviously he was kidding…
