Rumors of a new Batman Arkham game have been swirling for a while, and now they’ve been confirmed. Instead of the Silver Age story rumored to be developed by Rocksteady (who developed the last two games) for next gen systems, Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal and will be out on October 25th for current gen consoles and PCs.
The game isn’t a real prequel about Arkham, instead it tells the story of eight assassins who come to Gotham to kill Batman on Christmas Eve. So far only Deathstroke is confirmed, but this marks the first appearance of Slade Wilson in the Arkham games. So we know Batman will be facing off the character that Rob Liefeld completely copied with Deadpool, and the developers promise other characters to tell the story of the first time Batman ran into them.
