A child who was starved to death and loved Superman will not have the Superman logo on his memorial statue, thanks to DC Comics.
According to the Toronto Star, a five year old boy named Jeffry Baldwin was starved to death by his grandparents and a father from Ottawa started a fundraising campaign to build a memorial for the boy. As he dressed up for Superman for Halloween, the statue was to be as him dressed as the Man of Steel.
Unfortunately DC stepped in and denied the use of the Superman “S” shield on the statue. While DC wouldn’t comment on the Toronto Star story, it’s believed that DC doesn’t want the character associated with child abuse. But if that’s the case, how do they explain Superman destroying Metropolis at the end of Man of Steel.
Until DC realizes how bad this makes them look and allows the memorial to happen, I say everyone stops reading their comics and watching their shows/movies.
