Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Continues the Introduction to \’Inhumans\’

||

attilanIt’s becoming very clear now that Marvel intends Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to be the introduction to the concept of the Inhumans to those who are unfamiliar with the comics. Last week, the series introduced the idea of an ancient city. Most comic fans believe this to be the Inhuman city of Attilan, and while some doubted that citing the budget of a television series, last night’s episode pretty much confirmed it.

The episode provided a huge number of reveals people have been waiting for. While we didn’t get Skye’s real name (could it be Daisy?), we did finally meet her mother who was the source of Whitehall’s ability to not age. It appears that her Inhuman ability was surgically removed by Whitehall and put into him, one of the goriest moments in the entire series and a probable reason why Marvel is happy the series is now on an hour later than last year.

But the biggest confirmation came with the city, and the “Diviner”. It looks like the theory that he object is a Terrigen device could be coming true as Skye’s father described what it could do and if you read between the lines he was describing Terrigenesis. He also confirmed there is a temple within the city, and there was even backstory to the Inhumans talking about how the “blue angels” (the Kree) created them!

If you’ve been waiting for the Inhumans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you absolutely must be watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
