Just a few days ago, a prominent film blog went on record with a quickly debunked bit of click bait that said Warner Brothers was so worried about the DC Extended Universe that they were considering throwing out all their plans and removing Zack Snyder from Justice League. Today that seems to be officially debunked, as the start date of filming for Justice League has been revealed and Zack Snyder is definitely still directing it.
Not only did Entertainment Weekly learn that Snyder’s Justice League will begin filming on April 11th, but they have some quotes from the director himself:
“It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming,” he said. “But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.”
Hopefully confirmation of the filming and the fact that Snyder is in fact directing it will shut up those people who wanted to believe that sensationalist click bait.
