THIS IS A WARNING. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN M. NIGHT SHYMALAN’S SPLIT THIS SPOILS THE MAJOR TWIST IN THE MOVIE.
THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING
THE TWIST WILL BE SPOILED
M. Night Shyamalan has had a rough few years with that maligned live-action Airbender movie and a few big failures that shall not be named following it. But with Split he’s given us a pseudo-sequel to one of his classics. And boy is it one we’ve been waiting for.
In a video on Fandom, Shyamalan explains the twist ending to the movie. Yea, you can cry that he’s gone back to his twist gimmick, but we’d give him a break for this one. It gave us a follow-up to one of his best movies.
The big twist? Bruce Willis shows up as David Dunn from Unbreakable.
Originally James McAvoy’s character was going to be in Unbreakable, but he couldn’t get the script to work. So we got that movie and then a decade later we get Split and it’s not quite a sequel, but it exists in the same universe where David Dunn is something of a super hero.
Hopefully we get a third movie in this line. It’s been a long wait for an Unbreakable sequel, and Split is pretty close to that.
