While the movie has been filming for about a week already, today Marvel officially confirmed it’s underway by releasing the official plot synopsis for Black Panther.
“Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
The synopsis confirms that the movie is set after Civil War, although there will likely be flashbacks as Marvel’s official cast list confirms that T’Chaka will appear in the movie. Andy Serkis has also been confirmed to be returning as Klaw, who was last seen in Age of Ultron.
Black Panther will be released just over a year from now on February 16, 2018.
