When the first images of Kylo Ren in The Last Jedi came out, people noticed his scar looked a little different than it did in The Force Awakens.
Fans, as they do, begun to hatch elaborate theories about why this was and some just began to get really mean to the filmmakers accusing them of not paying attention to the last movie. It turns out the change is intended, and Rian Johnson had a good reason to alter his scar:

For something people barely saw in The Force Awakens, it’s not really something the majority of people seeing The Last Jedi will even notice. But if the scar looked dumb in its original position, a slight change is understandable since we’ll be seeing it a lot more than we did in Episode VII.
