Last month Sony created a bit a controversy when they said that the MCU deal for Spider-Man could end after the Homecoming sequel, and now Marvel has kind of backed that up.
In an interview with THR, Keven Feige says Spider-Man will be in Avengers 4 and then the Homecoming sequel but that’s it as of right now:
“Marvel’s landmark deal with Sony has allowed the wall-crawler to enter the MCU, and Feige confirmed Spider-Man will appear in 2019’s untitled Avengers 4. That’s after his starring turn in Spider-Man: Homecoming and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. After the second Avengers appearance, it will be back for a Homecoming sequel, set for 2019.
“That’s as far as it goes for now,” Feige said.“
Once again if Sony pulls anything stupid and prevents Spider-Man from continuing to appear in the MCU after the Homecoming sequel it’ll be the single dumbest decision made since Fox tried to make Fantastic Four dark and gritty.
