This Saturday at the historic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Entertainment Weekly held four screenings of Return of the Jedi for its 30th anniversary and their first CapeFest film festival. It was thirty years ago that the film premiered in that very theater, and it hadn't been shown there since. The first showing of the day was mainly for Lucasfilm and invited guests, although some tickets did go... more. -

We know from past comments that Doctor Strange is on the mind of Marvel's Kevin Feige. But now in an interview with Collider, we know when they're planning to bring the Sorcerer Supreme to the big screen...if they can crack the story and create a good version of the character for the screen: “Dr. Strange is s... more. -
JJ Abrams Likely Won’t Direct Star Trek 3

With Abrams working on Star Wars Episode VII for a 2015 release, most people assumed that meant he was out of the running with Star Trek. Since 2016 is the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Paramount obviously wants the third movie out in time for that celebration; and it does look like Abrams won't be directing it. TrekMovie went to the London premiere and Twee... more. -

Last week, following the Sydney world premiere, Paramount issued an announcement saying how Star Trek Into Darkness was tracking to an $85 million opening. That's big for a Star Trek movie, however it is definitely spun to make the movie look positive; likely because of what they d... more. -

Normally I think these teasers of a trailer are stupid, but this is Ender's Game. The scifi classic is one we've waited forever to see made into a movie, and we're finally getting close to it being released later this year. On May 7th they'll release the first trailer, but today they've released a short teaser of that trailer that shows off Graff, the Battle School, and a shot of Mandarin as Ma... more. -

Colin Trevorrow has just made Jurassic Park fans very happy. The director of Jurassic Park 4 tweeted out an image today that seems to confirm the movie will be returning to Isla Nublar; the site of the original Jurassic Park. Both Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 were set on "Site B", also known as Isla Sorna, which is where the dinosaurs were really created (Nublar was just the showroom). It's ... more. -

Last week, a rumor popped up that Joss Whedon was including the mutant twins Scarlet Witch and Quiksilver in The Avengers 2. Whedon didn't name them, but said he has already added a brother-sister team to the roster, and those two are really the only major siblings to be Avengers in the comics. So everyone pretty much assumed he meant Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and now more. -

Tony Stark may be lighting up the box office this weekend, but the real king of 2013 summer movies doesn't arrive on Earth until June. While the first spot was just a condensed version of the second trailer, this one includes scenes from the third trailer along with all new footage: -Jor-El holdin... more. -
Iron Man 3′s China-Exclusive Footage is Nothing Special

Despite misguided fanboy hopes of Fin Fang Foom flying around the screen in the China-exclusive Iron Man 3 footage; the real thing is kind of stupid. Since Iron Man 3 was co-financed by a Chinese film company, Marvel agreed to insert some scenes specifically for the Chinese audience. Shane Black had nothing to do with the footage, and more.
