As popular as the X-Men movies are, they generally do a poor job of replicating the comic book looks. From the first movie mocking yellow spandex, to the Wolverine costume that was cut out of The Wolverine, it's almost like the filmmakers are afraid of embracing the comic book. The on-going drama between Marvel and Fox over the Fantastic Four and X-Men licenses is starting to become pretty well known among comic fans.
