EA announces Battlefield Play4Free

||

Along the lines of Battlefield Heroes and Quake Live, EA has announced a new modern combat Battlefield game titled Battlefield Play4Free. The game is using the same engine as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes and will combine popular maps from Battlefield 2 with weapons from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – all for free. It’ll likely be structured like Battlefield Heroes where you can use microtransactions to customize your soldier’s appearance, but they won’t have any advantage over players who don’t pay. EA also released the first trailer for the game below, which shows the Strike at Karkand map from Battlefield 2. Open Beta for the game will begin at battlefield.play4free.com on November 30th, but you can sign up now.
