Lots of players registered on the official Old Republic site began to receive Beta Survey emails this week, and in the world of MMOs that naturally made them skittish. In a world of MMO phishing attempts, everyone is a bit cautious when these sort of things hit email boxes. Firstly, this email is not a phishing attempt. Research into the company sending the surveys out shows that they have connections with Bioware. Secondly, it’s not a beta invite. Basically it looks to be just a survey company gathering information from Bioware in order for them to better select a pool of beta testers for what will likely be a four week long beta test. The survey doesn’t ask for any personal information, and what it does ask makes sense from Bioware’s point of view.
