In a move that isn’t really surprising, it appears as if EA and BioWare have delayed Star Wars: The Old Republic to September. The news comes from industry business publication MCV who received the news from their sources. The game was previously scheduled to come out this Spring.
The news of a delay comes after increasing negative press. In addition to the 1Up article a couple of weeks ago, it was also just revealed that investors are wary of the game and betting against it. This comes from EA’s track record with releasing MMOs. Warhammer Online flopped spectacularly, and EA in the past has launched and shut down numerous MMOs including The Sims Online, Motor City Online (which started out as a Need for Speed title), Earth and Beyond, and they closed down All Points Bulletin earlier this year after only 79 days on the market.
