In a disappointing turn of events for PC FPS gamers, DICE has cancelled the long-delayed port of Battlefield 1943. In addition to that, they also cancelled Bad Company 2: Onslaught on the PC. DICE explained on the official Battlefield blog the reasoning behind this decision was to better put resources on Battlefield 3 and the new Frostbite 2 engine.
Honestly, after Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam was released for the PC; I wasn’t really expecting 1943 to come out. Battlefield 1943 was a standalone “sequel” to Battlefield 1942 that was made for the consoles using the original Bad Company engine and released after Bad Company. As the original Bad Company never came out for the PC, it was strange for them to announce 1943 for the PC in the first place as it was really made for the consoles in mind.
