It seems as if confidence for BioWare’s The Old Republic is building, as analysts are increasing their sales and subscription forecasts for the game. Gamasutra has the news that Cowen and Company has doubled their estimates for the game’s first year with it selling 3 million copies and holding 2 million subscribers.
This is up from their previous estimate of 1.5 million copies sold and 1 million subscribers. They base this on the strong pre-sales and because the game is currently tracking above both StarCraft 2 and Cataclsym, which both sold 4 million copies.
With PAX Prime just a couple weeks away, we may be very close to hearing a release date for The Old Republic.
