Please let this be just Hollywood gossip with no real basis in reality. TMZ is reporting that the Montreal studio where the third Riddick movie was being filmed has changed the locks and kicked everyone out after the production company failed to pay its bill on time. It’s been known for a while that things would be tight on the movie, as Vin Diesel announced a while ago via his Facebook page that he may have to forgo a paycheck to make an R-rated Riddick happen, but this sounds pretty extreme.
So far there’s no confirmation of this outside of TMZ, and the current news coming out of the movie has been sounding pretty positive with some big casting rumors floating around, such as BSG’s Katee Sackhoff being offered the role of one of the mercs hunting Riddick. So lets just hope this is a horrible rumor and we’ll be seeing an R-rated Riddick in theaters next year.
