Star Wars Films May Revert to May Release Dates

star_wars_trilogyOne of the biggest changes with Star Wars Episode VII is the move of the release date from the traditional May to December. Disney had May 22nd reserved for Star Wars, which is why they quickly moved Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland into that date after moving Star Wars to December 18th, and now it sounds like future Star Wars movies may go back to a May release date.

Variety reporter Brent Lang sent out a series of tweets this morning with news from Alan Horn about Star Wars at Disney:

So that AT-AT foot in Abu Dhabi is apparently real, as he confirms the second unit has been filming there. Second unit stuff is traditionally action scenes as opposed to heavy dialog stuff, which is why they could do that without casting complete.
