The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel writer David Goyer is sitting pretty high on the new DC Cinematic Universe that Warner is creating, so why isn’t Martian Manhunter in the Justice League movie? According to a recent comment by Goyer, the character is just too obscure for the regular movie-goer.
Comic Book Movie found a quote from Goyer where he insults comic book readers for knowing who Martian Manhunter is:
â€œHow many people in the audience have heard of Martian Manhunter?â€ After hearing some light applause and cheers, he added, â€œHow many people that raised their hands have ever been laid?â€
Maybe someone should tell him that Martian Manhunter was heavily featured in most of the DC animated series (and movies) about the Justice League, which seemed to be pretty popular. It’s also funny that Goyer was saying this the same week that Marvel released a full trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy.
