Ant-Man_logo-618x400One of the earliest Marvel Studios films has lost its long-time director. Ever since it was announced long before The Avengers, Ant Man was meant to be an Edgar Wright movie and now he’s left the film.

The Wrap has a statement from Marvel:

“Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on ANT-MAN due to differences in their vision of the film,” a statement read. “The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”

Recently Marvel has said how they were needing to tweak certain things in Ant Man so it could meld with the Cinematic Universe, as the movie began life long before any of the other movies that followed it did. It’s possible these changes to what Ant Man is contributed to the differences in vision for the movie.
