When Lucasfilm began publishing canon Star Wars novels with A New Dawn, the thing fans were really waiting for was an official explanation as to what happens after the Battle of Endor. While the Expanded Universe flourished in that time period, the official canon would be more important in laying the groundwork for The Force Awakens.
On September 4th we’ll get our first look at the post-ROTJ canon in Star Wars: Aftermath.
Apparently Barnes & Noble posted a synopsis that Jedi-Bibliothek found:

I’m more excited to read this than any of the other Star Wars novels coming out in 2015…
