After months of rumor and speculation, Bethesda has made it official: Fallout 4 is coming.
The company launched a new Fallout countdown page, with the timer set to 24 hours from now. So by this time tomorrow we’re likely to get our first look at the latest installment of the legendary post-apocalyptic role-playing series.
At this point there’s nothing known about the game, such as its setting or what platforms it’ll be on. It could be cross-gen as Bethesda’s E3 page lists an unannounced RPG for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One. That could very well be Fallout 4, but freaking out over it being cross-gen is premature right now. These days, the past-gen ports are normally done by a port house and don’t have any bearing on the main game itself.
It’ll be interesting to see where the game is set. The previous games in the series set set on the West Coast and then East Coast of the US, so maybe we’ll get a completely different location for part four? We’ll likely find out more tomorrow.
With the announcement of Fallout 4 being official, Bethesda has shown that this year’s E3 is going to be pretty awesome.
