Warner Brothers has released a trailer for the upcoming Hobbit Trilogy Extended Edition theater event taking place in October, and it’s more confirmation of the R Rating for Battle of the Five Armies.
A couple of weeks ago the MPAA confirmed that the extended cut of The Battle of Five Armies would be Rated R. When Warner officially announced the Blu-Ray release of the cut yesterday the R-rating in the press release was taken as news, when in reality it’s been known for a while.
There are also still people freaking out over a “kids book” receiving an R rating, but the Appendices Jackson pulled from definitely weren’t light and kid friendly. That’s where most of The Hobbit movie stuff comes from and based on the source material it’s pulling from, an R rating isn’t that shocking.
