If you run a website you’re able to see the search terms people are using to find your site, and since Friday the top one has been “force awakens bootleg”. Well, you won’t find that here and if you’re looking for one we have a message for you.
Go see the movie in theaters.
Star Wars is meant to be seen on the big screen. Are you really that cheap that you’ll refuse to pay the $12 to see The Force Awakens the way it was meant to be seen and instead prefer to download a crappy bootleg with terrible sound that was filmed with someone’s camcorder…complete with people in the theater walking in front of the camera? If you really are that cheap, you’re a Moof Milker.
Making matters worse is yesterday Hollywood trade The Wrap posted a story that said The Force Awakens leaked online. While it’s true there are some seriously horrible quality cam recordings of the movie out there, it’s nowhere near the level of leaks we see every year at this time as the Oscar screener DVDs are pirated.
Comparing a garbage cam recording of The Force Awakens to a DVD rip of something like the Revanant is just irresponsible and will actually cause people to seek out the pirated Star Wars more than if they were honest about what it really is. The bootleg Force Awakens is a piece of trash recorded by someone sitting in the theater, while the yearly Oscar screener leaks are DVD quality. They shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence, but with all the Star Wars clickbait out there over the last couple weeks I guess they couldn’t resist.
So instead of downloading a poodoo bootleg copy of The Force Awakens, go and spend the money to see the movie the way it was meant to be seen. On the biggest screen possible with the best sound possible.
