Prior to the release of The Force Awakens, Rey’s parentage was the one big mystery none of the spoilers could answer. Now that the movie is out, it still remains the mystery that dans are debating continually. Yesterday, Colin Trevorrow made some comments that led some to think we wouldn’t get the satisfying answer until his movie, Episode IX in 2019. Now it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait that long..
EW has a quote today from JJ Abrams that makes it sound like Rian Johnson will answer the question in his movie:
“Obviously it’s not for me to talk about in this moment because this is Rian’s story to continue now. The last thing I’m going to do is reveal something that he would be upset about. I want to make sure that Rian gets the courtesy that he showed me.â€
Trevorrow’s comments yesterday promised that it would be a satisfying answer and his movie will honor all of the Star Wars that came before it. With Rian Johnson and Colin Trevorrow finishing out the trilogy that JJ Abrams started, Star Wars fans have two awesome movies to look forward to.
