We’re still three months out from the release of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” but that hasn’t stopped Warner Brothers from jumping at the chance for a sequel. The studio has announced a date for the sequel, penned once again by Ms. Rowling. While many of the details of the film’s plot have not been revealed the date set for the film’s release is November 16, 2018, just two days shy of a year from the November 18th release of the first installment. David Yates, director of Harry Potter movies 5-8 and Fantastic Beasts, will return for the sequel.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, follows the story of famed magical naturalist Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, as he traverses through a magical 1920s New York in an attempt to rescue his escaped magical creatures. Aiding him in his quest are Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol as the Goldstein sisters and Dan Folger as Jacob Kowalski a “No-Maj” or “Muggle”. While helping Newt reacquire his missing creatures they must also avoid the North American magical law enforcement led by Colin Farrell’s Percival Graves, a highly skilled Auror determined to put an end to the chaos created by Scamander’s beasts, as well as contend with the fanatical New Salem Philanthropic Society (NSP) that are focused on rooting out witches and wizards and eradicating their kind.Â
While there is still some time yet to wait, fans can be sure to get their potter fix, by picking up the newly released “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part’s I & II” and being on the look out for the script book of Fantastic Beasts, due out on October 4, 2016.
