Recently The CW announced a new deal with Netflix where all of their shows will appear on the streaming service a few weeks after the season ended. This new deal would end the existing arrangement The CW had with Hulu where the previous five episodes would stream on that service. When this was announced people freaked out over not being able to see their shows on a streaming service until the season ended, but today The CW fixed that.
The CW is updating The CW App to stream all of their shows for free, and you won’t need a cable login to access it:
“This fall, every show on The CW will be available on Roku, Chromecast, AirPlay, Apple TV, Xbox, and Amazon Fire TV. Don’t worry, it’s still free and there’s no logins and no subscriptions. It’s the only place to stream CW shows like Supergirl, The Flash, Jane The Virgin, Arrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, iZombie, Supernatural, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The 100 and The Originals.”
Right now it’s not clear if it’ll be all of the episodes or just the five most recent. But as that setup seems to be something that came out of the Hulu deal, it’s likely you’ll probably be able to stream more than just five episodes at a time. We’ll have to wait and see to be sure though.
