Prominent games industry analyst Michael Patcher just self-immolated by comparing an entire segment of gamers to racists.
The inflammatory quote comes from the UK tabloid The Sun, where Patcher was explaining why he believes PC gamers won’t buy a PS4 Pro and his reasoning is that PC gamers are basically racist:
“I think PC Gamers are like racists; they only like there own kind and they have no interest in venturing out and mixing with other races”
If that wasn’t bad enough, he continued to insult PC gamers:
“PC gamers are arrogant twits who are convinced what they do is better than what anybody else can possibly do”
Patchers observations sound like a person who has no clue what a meme is on the internet and browsed r/pcmasterrace on Reddit. The whole “PC Master Race” thing is a joke among PC gamers. Sure, there may be some who really do look down on console “peasants”, but for many it’s all an in-joke to illustrate how much more powerful a PC can be compared to a console running on five-year-old hardware.
