Yesterday Rockstar confirmed the existence of a Red Dead sequel, and today it has a title.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next fall, although Rockstar will be releasing the first trailer for the game this Thursday. There was no PC version announced yet. While the original never was released on the PC, in the years since then Rockstar has been pretty good with supporting the PC with ports of their games so it’s possible a PC version is coming down the line.
While Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third in the “Red Dead” series, those calling it “Red Dead Redemption 3” are not entirely correct. The first Red Dead was Red Dead Revolver on the PlayStation 2, its sequel was Red Dead Redemption and was really a very different type of game. It’s clear that Rockstar sees a very distinct difference between the “Revolver” and “Redemption” games, enough to consider Redemption a series on its own.
This is sure to be the biggest selling title of 2017, especially after all the years of anticipation for a sequel to one of the best games ever made.
